Nominated for excelling in our core principles of: Commitment, Achievement, Respect and Excellence
Nominated by Jerilyn Ingham – Director of Day Services
Sweet Treats, an assortment of chocolate covered cookies, pretzels, and lollipops, was an idea that took shape in 2014 as a “fundraiser within a fundraiser” for our annual Miles for SMILES event which benefits the program services of the Southcoast Mentoring Initiative for Learning Education and Service (SMILES), the Agency’s mentoring program that operates in the Greater Fall River and New Bedford school systems.
This year, Amy, Liz and Lisa took this fundraising initiative to another level by adding chocolate covered cake pops and cupcakes to their array of Sweet Treats. This was a huge commitment of time and energy by this dedicated crew to produce and deliver their quality products while continuing to provide the premier services to the individuals in the Vocational Services program of our Day Services Division – and these ladies did so without skipping a beat! They maintained their enthusiasm for the project from the beginning of our Miles for SMILES kickoff until the event date. Devoting many hours of their personal time assuring all orders of Sweet Treats were processed and delivered in a timely manner while maintaining the highest level of quality control and deliciousness, this team raised close to $4,000 for the SMILES program! Amy Andrade, Liz Marques, and Lisa Seelye were committed to the success of Sweet Treats, viewing the entire project as a reflection of the Agency and the service recipients of our Vocational Services program. Way to go ladies and thank you for always going the extra mile to make our Agency shine! They truly reflect the core principles of the PI C.A.R.Es Award of Commitment, Achievement, Respect and Excellence!
