People Incorporated begins 50th Anniversary planning at the State House

FALL RIVER, MA   –  In advance of its 50th anniversary next year, People Incorporated is planning a number of special events and creative activities over the coming months for its employees and the public, which will culminate in a celebration dinner to be held on the exact date of the agency’s 50th anniversary of its incorporation on October 2, 2018. Employees and supporters are already proposing ideas and spreading the word about this celebration, and last week they started at the highest level in the commonwealth – the Governor’s office. Joined by Governor’s Councilor Joe Ferreira, People Incorporated President Bob Canuel and Board of Directors Chairman Jeff Marques visited the State House and met with Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito to discuss their strategy for commemorating the agency’s milestone anniversary.

“We’re pleased to be able to get People Incorporated’s 50th anniversary on the Lieutenant Governor’s radar, and I thank Lieutenant Governor Polito for her time,” said Mr. Canuel. “With nearly 900 staff members, we are now a significant employer in the Southeastern Massachusetts region, and the reach of our services continues to expand. It’s an exciting time for our agency, and I’m glad we will be able to involve so many in the commemorative events.” Mr. Marques added, “Over the past five decades, People Incorporated has provided premier services to those in our community who need us most. We’re looking forward not only to celebrating our achievements but also to continuing and improving them for years to come.”

People Incorporated encourages the public to be on the lookout for more special features and events as it rolls out its 50th anniversary celebration now through next year.
