People Incorporated provides 215 turkey baskets for families

FALL RIVER – Families in need within the Greater Fall River area will have much less to worry about at the Thanksgiving dinner table this year. On Nov. 16, People Incorporated distributed over 200 turkeys and all of the fixings to help families round out a full Thanksgiving meal this holiday season. In preparation for the distribution, participants of People Incorporated’s Day Services program carefully sorted and organized all 215 Thanksgiving baskets, each of which included items such as fresh carrots, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and dessert. Kids-A-Palooza draws more than 500 people!

With perfect weather and record crowds, Kids-A-Palooza 2017 is officially a success!  Children and families thoroughly enjoyed a petting zoo sponsored by Norcom Mortgage, which included a feisty baby goat, two little piglets, multi-colored bunnies, and adorable chickens. Mass Mentoring Partnership closes gap for SMILES Program!

Amid Budget Cuts, Fall River-Based SMILES Program Level-Funded for FY2018 Mass Mentoring Partnership closes gap for Mentoring Matching Grant line item by $25,000 FALL RIVER, MA (September 15, 2017) – People, Incorporated’s SMILES Mentoring Program was spared a 5% cut from its FY18 Mentoring Matching Grant award last month. September 2017 ROSE COUTO Congratulations to Rose Couto for receiving the PI CARES award! Urban Youth Collaborative Update

During Fiscal Year 2017, People Incorporated's Urban Youth Collaborative worked with high school students throughout Fall River to increase their educational attainment and their job readiness!  Just a few of the successes this year: Implemented a workforce development program with paid internships and job readiness skills, serving ten students at the Resiliency Preparatory Academy (RPA) and eight students at BMC Durfee High School Eighteen students completed fifty hours of Direct Support Professional training, gaining certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid Sixteen students were offered and completed paid internships within People, Incorporated's Day Habilitation, Extended Day, Residential, Preschool, Children's Center, Early [...]
