The Family Advocacy and Community Education Center (FACE Center) of People, Incorporated is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the full-time position of FACE Center Program Coordinator. The FACE Center serves as the family support center for the Fall River area office of the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS). The Program Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Program Director, FACE and DDS staff members, and family members to create strength-based services to assist children and adults with a developmental disability and their families to be successful within their homes and community.

A Bachelor’s Degree or a minimum of two years working in Human Services is required. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with a developmental disability and their families, and will have an understanding of strengths-based family support principles. An ability to take initiative and think creatively is desirable. A working knowledge of services and supports available through the Department of Developmental Services is essential and an understanding of supportive services available through the local community would be a plus. Reporting to the Director of Community Partnerships, the Program Tutor is responsible for providing academic and supports to students through the Community Engagement Center at the Resiliency Preparatory Academy. The Program will comprise education, workforce training programs, and support services, which provide students with the skills necessary to complete their high school requirements or re-engage into high school, while securing and retaining employment within the area’s key industries and/or transitioning to higher education.

Essential Functions

  • Provide academic and other supports; track activities and outcomes; and communicate regularly with the director to ensure goals and outcomes are met.
  • Ability to devise new individualized non-conventional methods of learning when needed.
  • Design workshops for student that would provide a more conducive learning environment.

Qualifications

People, Incorporated is looking for an individual to join our team as the Community Engagement Center Coordinator. Reporting to the Director of Community Partnerships, the Community Engagement Center Coordinator is responsible for all activities within the Community Engagement Center (CEC) at the Resiliency Preparatory Academy (RPA). The employee assumes managerial responsibility of the oversight of all current CEC educational, training, and support services as well as pursuing future initiatives to ensure state-of-the-art services are provided, success is attained, and growth is accomplished while providing students and their families with the resources necessary to successfully complete their high school requirements while securing and retaining employment and/or transitioning to Higher Education.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Work with Director of Community Partnerships and Vice President of Community, Child and Family Services on creating fiscal stability and expansion models for the CEC
  • Collaborate with Director of Grants to promote advancement in funding.
  • Create and implement workforce development initiatives for RPA students and families.
  • Participate in the development and administration of all policies and procedures for the CEC.
  • Oversee day to day operations of Center and ensure it meets all or exceeds goals and outcomes.
  • Secure new partners who support the CEC and its programs.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing Department, materials that promote and advertise available programs. Explore community opportunities that help to overcome barriers and challenges for participants.
  • Serve as liaison with RPA to promote awareness and expand CEC’s premiere services.
  • Participate in staff meeting to gather information for further Center development.
  • Function as community liaison to promote awareness and support of the Center’s premiere services.
  • Responsible for ongoing evaluations of staff with a focus on recognition of excellence, quality, and value to the Agency.
  • Supervise and review the filing of all required reports (e.g., monthly, quarterly, and year-end)
  • Coordinate and oversee all planning and operational functions of the Center including supervision of Community Center employees, training, employee evaluations, safety and crisis prevention management, as well as record keeping and reporting.
  • Maintain statistics on services rendered to assist in evaluation for all programs.
  • Establish an annual work plan and effectively communicate its priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in program management required.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate programs and develop corrective action to resolve issues.
  • Understanding of workforce development and job readiness training required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point), Adobe Acrobat, and web based platforms
  • Knowledge of non-profit agencies.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, organizational and fiscal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

The Early Intervention Program is looking for a Part-Time Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA), to work in a supportive multi-disciplinary team environment. This position will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist and will assist the OT with providing services to children with developmental delays, age birth to three years, and to their families/caregivers. This position will assist in providing therapy in the child’s natural environment within a family centered, community-based program. Responsibilities also include attending parent meetings, community case conferences, transitional activities or relevant activities that may include providing insight, information, referrals or advocacy for children and their families.

Our Residential Program is looking for compassionate Relief Direct Care Professionals to work in a team environment and provide premier services to the consumers in our care. On a daily basis, this position will: provide a structured routine that includes but is not limited to house meetings, consumer outings, meal preparation, ADL care, facilitate family visitations, and distribute medication while maintaining human rights at all times. This position will implement Positive Behavior Support and individual programs as identified in the Individual Service Plans. At times, de-escalation and crisis management techniques may be required to maintain the safety of others. These positions require a flexible schedule including 2nd and/or 3rd shifts.

These positions require a minimum of a high school diploma or GED, and direct care experience and relevant trainings. Training to include but not limited to; MAP certification; NVMAB, First Aid and CPR. Individuals with C.N.A, PCA and HHA certification or a degree in Human Services, Psychology, and Sociology are encouraged to apply. A qualifying criminal background check and a valid driver’s license are also required.

On a daily basis, the C.N.A will provide a structured routine that includes but is not limited to house meetings, consumer outings, meal preparation, ADL care, facilitate family visitations, distribute medication while maintaining human rights at all times. This position will implement Positive Behavior Support and Individual programs as identified in the Individual Service Plans. At times, de-escalation and crisis management techniques may be required to maintain the safety of others. This position requires a flexible schedule including 2nd and/or 3rd shifts. This position is required to work at least one shift on a weekend and some holidays.

These positions require a minimum high school diploma or GED. MA C.N.A certification and direct care experience required. Additional relevant trainings are preferred; MAP certification; NVMAB, First Aid and CPR. A qualifying criminal background check and a valid driver’s license are also required.
