The SouthCoast Mentoring Initiative for Learning, Education & Service, Inc. (SMILES) program, an affiliate of People, Incorporated, is hiring a 20 hour per week Group Leader to facilitate in-school youth mentoring programs in the South Coast region of Massachusetts. Group Leaders are highly motivated and organized individuals who have energy, enthusiasm and experience working with children. Group Leaders manage assigned SMILES programs in elementary schools, middle schools and high schools located in the region and host a range of activities that aim to create strong mentoring relationships between adult volunteers, mentors and students. Group Leaders are also responsible for supporting curriculum development, assisting with fundraising opportunities, program evaluations and other duties related to implementing a high-quality mentoring program. Training and program materials are provided by the Program Coordinator.

Ability to manage a group of 10 or more adult volunteers and students is a must.

People, Incorporated is seeking a dynamic Transportation Division Director to fulfill a new exciting role within our Agency. The Transportation Division Director reports to the Director of Facilities and is responsible for directing, and overseeing fleet and transportation operations with the purpose of providing premier services to the Adult Services Division, Children’s Division, and all other programs within the agency. As a member of our leadership team, the Transportation Division Director will ensure the achievement of agency defined objectives by planning, evaluating, developing, implementing and maintaining services in compliance with relevant guidelines, codes, and regulations; and supervising and directing assigned staff in the Division.

A Bachelor’s degree in Management or a related field, and five years’ experience in a similar role is required; or a suitable combination of education and related work experience. Minimum requirements include previous experience supervising transportation/fleet personnel, managing financial budgets, and analyzing and evaluating inventory, complaints, safety, and performance issues. Compliance and knowledge in Federal, State, and local regulations and safety laws is required, along with understanding GATRA, DOT, CDL, EEC and other relevant regulations. Experience servicing/transporting individuals with developmental disabilities. This ideal candidate will possess proven ability in management and completion of projects, as well as working with external personnel to reach defined objectives. This position will help support the Welcome Family program by performing clerical functions, and outreach to potential clients, local health care, and social service agencies. The Early Childhood Education Division is looking for compassionate C.N.A. Reporting to the President and CEO, and serving as an integral member of the senior leadership team, the VP of Communications will be responsible for the development of People, Incorporated’s marketing, public relations and communications strategy and will contribute to our organizational strategic operations. Essential Functions

  • Works as part of the Administrative Management Team (AMT) to identify and respond to growth and quality issues with the division.

  • Lead development activities and campaigns to support existing programs as well as deploy new development activities to support the Agency’s strategic plan.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Communication, Marketing or Business.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in a senior management role, Human Service industry experience a plus.
  • A minimum of five years experience in planning, writing, editing, and production of press releases, annual reports, marketing literature, and other print publications.
  • Experience overseeing website and multi-platform social media accounts.
  • Experience in building, mentoring, and coaching a team.
  • Ability to actively engage, cultivate, and manage press relationships to ensure coverage surrounding People, Incorporated programs and affiliates, special events, public announcements, and other projects.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate programs and activities as they relate to Agency branding.

Our Day Program is looking for responsible part time Drivers for a flexible shift,
early mornings and late afternoons, to transport program participants to designated locations as scheduled. Experienced Drivers preferred. 7D License preferred but not required. Our Residential Program is looking for compassionate Relief Direct Care Professionals to work in a team environment and provide premier services to the consumers in our care. On a daily basis, this position will: provide a structured routine that includes but is not limited to house meetings, consumer outings, meal preparation, ADL care, facilitate family visitations, and distribute medication while maintaining human rights at all times. This position will implement Positive Behavior Support and individual programs as identified in the Individual Service Plans. At times, de-escalation and crisis management techniques may be required to maintain the safety of others. These positions require a flexible schedule including 2nd and/or 3rd shifts.

These positions require a minimum of a high school diploma or GED, and direct care experience and relevant trainings. Training to include but not limited to; MAP certification; NVMAB, First Aid and CPR. Individuals with C.N.A, PCA and HHA certification or a degree in Human Services, Psychology, and Sociology are encouraged to apply. A qualifying criminal background check and a valid driver’s license are also required.

On a daily basis, the C.N.A will provide a structured routine that includes but is not limited to house meetings, consumer outings, meal preparation, ADL care, facilitate family visitations, distribute medication while maintaining human rights at all times. This position will implement Positive Behavior Support and Individual programs as identified in the Individual Service Plans. This position is required to work at least one shift on a weekend and some holidays.

SMILES Mentors are an asset to the community and a driving force for positive change. As a group they serve to be part of the solution to attaining a better educated, responsible and community minded society. The SMILES Mentoring Program helps to empower youth in our community to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their potential. SMILES is currently looking for adult volunteers who will commit to supporting, guiding, and being a friend to a young person for a period of at least one year, one hour per week. SMILES believes that with your help and the proper support in place all children have the potential to succeed in life and contribute to society in a positive fashion. The Community Support Program supports consumers participating in non-work activities in the community to encourage improvement of physical well-being and social skills and to provide opportunities for inclusion. Must be able to escort, assist and/or transport consumers while encouraging independence and self esteem including advocating for consumers in professional and pleasant manner. Valid driver’s license required and a High School diploma or GED as well as a qualifying criminal background check.
